Where do I go to rent a DEGEN?
Open www.niftyleague.com and tap the
Launch App button in the header, which will open www.niftyleague.com. From here, you may choose to connect your crypto wallet, browse DEGEN rentals, and view our games. If your crypto wallet holds a DEGEN you own or with an active rental, you will be able to launch our game, Nifty Smashers, and start playing.
Where can I learn more about DEGEN rentals?
Read more about our plans for DEGEN rentals here. Stay in the loop regarding rental, gameplay and community updates by joining our Discord server and following us on Twitter.
What do the terms Club, Sponsor and Recruit mean?
We use the term Club to refer to a group of players. In web3/P&E/NFT gaming, these are typically referred to as Guilds. Furthermore, Clubs will be core to the Nifty ecosystem, with in-game social features where DEGENs can proudly represent their Clubs on their profile and within the game.
We use the term Sponsor to refer to a Club (or any other DEGEN owner) who has paid for a DEGEN rental on behalf of a player. In web3/P&E/NFT gaming, Sponsors are typically Guilds, but at Nifty Leauge, owning your NFT means your can rent it out to any player you wish!
We use the term Recruit to refer to a player and member of the community who is sponsored by a Club or DEGEN owner.
Is there a maximum amount of times my DEGEN can be rented?
No, but the rental fee increases with each subsequent rental.
How does the rental fee work?
You can initiate a rental by paying the initial rental fee, which covers the cost of the rental for one week. After the first week, the rental switches to daily. The daily rental fee will automatically deduct from your
Game & Rental Balanceuntil either the rental is terminated or the DEGEN is no longer available for rent.
Game & Rental Balance by opening our app, clicking
My Dashboard in the side navigation, then
Overview, which opens your dashboard where
Game & Rental Balance is visible.
Can I take my DEGEN off the public market if it has already been rented?
Yes! Any existing rentals active on your DEGEN will be terminated at the end of the ongoing rental period. You can disable your DEGEN by opening our app, clicking
Disable Rentals under the DEGEN's image. After all active rentals have expired, your DEGEN will no longer be available to rent by the public. Please note that re-activating a DEGEN rental costs 1,000 NFTL.
Can I sponsor another player for a DEGEN rental?
If a DEGEN is available on the market to the public, anyone can sponsor a DEGEN rental for another player/Recruit. If a DEGEN is disabled from the public market, only the DEGEN owner can sponsor another player/Recruit's rental.
How do in-game earnings caps on rentals work?
A rental is initiated with a weekly in-game earnings cap that applies to the first week’s earnings until the rental switches to daily, at which point the in-game earnings cap will be incremented daily with each rental fee charge.
What happens after I reach the in-game earnings cap on my rental?
You can still play, however you won’t earn NFTL until a new rental period is activated. For instance, if you hit the in-game earnings cap on your initial weekly rental, the cap will be reset once your week-long rental expires and your DEGEN moves to a daily rental.
Hit your cap and can't wait to earn more NFTL? You can initiate a rental on another DEGEN at any time! Players are not limited to any number of active rentals. Test gameplay with another tribe to discover your favorite.
How do I terminate a rental?
As a Recruit/Player, you can terminate an active rental at any time. The rental will stay active until the end of the period for which it’s been paid. You will not be issued a NFTL refund for a rental that is terminated prior to last day of the rental period.
As an Owner/Sponsor, you can terminate an active rental issued to your Recruit/Player at any time. The rental will stay active until the end of the period for which it’s been paid but will not renew for subsequent rental periods. You will not be issued a NFTL refund for a rental that is terminated prior to last day of the rental period.
All rentals (regardless of if you are a Recruit/Player or Owner/Sponsor) can be terminated by navigating to the app, where you will click
My Dashboard, then
Rentals. Hover over the row with the rental you wish to terminate and scroll to right until the
Terminate button is visible. Click
Terminate. A success notification will trigger once your rental is terminated.
What happens if I sell my DEGEN while a rental is active?
The active rental is not disrupted, and the renter can continues to play/use your DEGEN as usual, however, all owner income from the rental goes to the new owner starting the moment the DEGEN leaves your wallet.
Help! I tried to rent a DEGEN but I see an error stating "insufficient funds". What now?
Rental costs are deducted from your
Game & Rental Balance. If you have a balance of NFTL available in
Daily NFTL Accrued, you can click
Claimand follow the prompts via your crypto wallet, which will move the balance from
Daily NFTL Accuredto your
Game & Rental Balance. which will allow you to activate a Rental (assuming you claimed enough NFTL to cover the rental).
Will it be possible to add in-game items to rented DEGENs?
Yes, once the items marketplace is live! This includes items acquired through comic burning as well.
Can the same two DEGENs play each other simultaneously in Nifty Smashers?
Yes! Crazy, right.
Why is there an NFTL earning cap on DEGEN rentals?
Having a cap on our emissions helps our ecosystem in maintaining a more sustainable and stable emission level, which is desirable to both token holders and players.
Why is the rental price curve so steep?
We have set the curve based on player-base size, which will be readjusted dynamically as the player-base grows. The curve helps ensure the rental spread is fair across all background multipliers.
How can the rental price curve possibly support more players?
The curve will start out steeper to create a fair spread across all DEGENs while supporting more renting activity on DEGENs with higher multipliers.
How can the in-game earnings cap and rental fee keep up with the NFTL market?
Earning rates, rentals price and the rental cap will be closely monitored and periodically adjusted based on the needs of the community.
The owner's share of in-game earnings is too low! How can I change it?
The first version of the rental system will set the Owner’s share to 10%. The second version of the rental system will include a feature allowing Owners to customize the share of in-game earnings they wish to keep, which could range anywhere from 0% to 100%. Please note, if the Owner is also the Sponsor (for example, the Owner is sponoring a Recruit by issuing them a Rental Pass or purchasing a rental on a Reruit's behalf), their share of in-game earnings is 60%.
Can the Sponsor shares of in-game earnings be adjusted?
The first version of the rental system will set the Sponsor’s share to 50%. The second version of the rental system will include a feature allowing Sponsors to customize the share of in-game earnings they wish to keep. The Sponsor will be able to set the % split with the remainder of earnings left after the Owner’s share is removed.
For example, if the Owner set their in-game earnings share to 20%, the Sponsor could choose to keep e.g. 80%, leaving the Player/Recruit 0%, or e.g. 10%, leaving the Player/Recruit 70%.
Can the Player/Recruit shares of in-game earnings be adjusted?
The first version of the rental system will set the Player (Recruit if sponsored) share to 40%. The second version of the rental system will include a feature allowing Owners and Sponsors to customize the share of in-game earnings they wish to keep. This means, the Player/Recruit’s share is the remaining in-game earnings share not taken by the Owner and Sponsor.
Are in-game earnings capped on the DEGENs I own?
Yes, all DEGENs have their weekly earnings capped based on their multiplier. This ensures that our most active players are spreading the love (and NFTL) to other DEGENs as well!
How much NFTL can I expect to earn per match?
It will depend on your skill level, but you will be rewarded for every play you make in Nifty Smashers. Each kill, hit, ability hit, round win, or match win will reward you with points, which translate into NFTL rewards after the match. Remember that you can also lose points for unassisted deaths!
What happens to the weekly rental fee? Where does it go?
45% of the fee is given to the Owner.
5% of the fee is given to Nifty League (initially the Corporation, later the DAO).
50% of the fee is burned (removed from the ecosystem).
What happens to the daily rental fee? Where does it go?
10% of the fee is given to the Owner.
10% of the fee is given to Nifty League (initially the Corporation, later the DAO).
80% of the fee is burned (removed from the ecosystem).
How is this sustainable?!
It's not. Solution? ✨COMPETE & EARN✨ (more details to come soon).
What is a rental pass?
Rental passes let you rent a DEGEN for free, bypassing the rental fee entirely! Please note, rental passes can only be applied to DEGENs with Common backgrounds and zero rentals in queue (these typically cost 1,000 NFTL for a week-long rental).
Nifty League typically issues rental passes as rewards for our active community members and players, and to Clubs, partners and other communites we love.
You may choose to share your rental pass with a friend or family member who's interested in trying out Nifty Smashers, or buying a DEGEN NFT and understanding the player ecosystem in more detail. Alternatively, you can apply the rental pass on a DEGEN you don't own but wish to rent.

Check out our tutorial video on issuing rental passes.
Help! I received an error when attempting to issue a rental pass. Now what?
If you receive an error after attempting to rent a DEGEN using a rental pass, this is likely because the DEGEN either does not have a Common background, has an ongoing active rental, or, the address you attempted to issue the pass to is not recognized as a profile in our system. If the address is not recognized, please instruct your Recruit/Player (friend, family, etc.) to connect their crypto wallet to our app.
If you are encountering other issues with your rental pass, please reach out to a community moderators in our Discord server.
How can I get a rental pass?
From time to time we issue passes to players to reward engagement and other milestones! Sometimes we share them via raffles and giveaways.
If you run a Club (Guild) or Esports team and are interested in working with Nifty League as an official partner, please DM us on Twitter or reach out via Discord to learn more about how rental passes can help onboard your Recruits/Players to the Nifty League ecosystem.
Are rental passes able to be used on DEGENs with Rare, Meta and Legendary backgrounds?
No. Rental passes can only be used on DEGENs with Common backgrounds.
Are rental passes a NFT?
Are rental passes transferable?
No. If you have available rental passes in your wallet, you cannot transfer them to another wallet to then be issued to a Recruit/Player.
